The Kind of Website You Can Rent
Ten websites our team has designed and built for businesses in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal and across South Africa.
Rent-a-Website packages run for a minimum term of 6 months. Pay monthly in advance (month-to-month billing), or pay the full 6 months upfront.
30 days’ written notice is required to cancel. Cancelling before the end of the 6-month minimum term is subject to a R2,500.00 Website Build Recovery Fee to cover the build cost. Moving your hosting to another provider cancels your rental.
Adding new pages, disk quota or resources means upgrading your Rent-a-Website package.
Each package includes a Squirrel Media hosting package: Lite Hosting (Starter), Basic Hosting (Growth) or Power Hosting (Premium).
Domain renewal is excluded and is invoiced annually at current domain pricing.
You supply all content, images and information for your website. We don’t write content, and we won’t use copyrighted material on any website we design.
All code remains the property of Durban Website Design (Squirrel Media) until ownership is handed over. Want to own your website? Ask us for a buy-out evaluation.
You have 5 working days from the preview link to review your website and request one complete set of changes, each numbered and clearly described.

We design and build a professional website for your business, and instead of paying for the whole build upfront you pay a fixed monthly fee to use it. While you rent it, Durban Website Design (Squirrel Media) owns the website’s code.
What’s in each package?
Starter (R399 a month): a 1-page website with up to 4 sections and CTA buttons, no contact form, with Lite Hosting. Growth (R499 a month): up to 3 pages with up to 4 sections, a contact form and CTA buttons, with Basic Hosting. Premium (R699 a month): up to 8 pages with up to 5 sections per page, a contact form and CTA buttons, with Power Hosting. All three are HTML5 / CSS websites, and domain renewal isn’t included.
Is hosting included?
Yes. Each package includes a Squirrel Media hosting package: Lite Hosting with Starter, Basic Hosting with Growth and Power Hosting with Premium. Your domain renewal is billed separately.
Is there a minimum term?
Yes, 6 months. Pay month to month or the full 6 months upfront. After the first 6 months the rental continues monthly until you cancel.
How do I cancel?
Give us 30 days’ notice in writing. If you cancel before the 6-month minimum term ends, a R2,500.00 Website Build Recovery Fee applies, because your rental hasn’t yet covered the cost of building your site. Moving your hosting to another provider counts as cancelling your rental, so the same fee applies if you move inside the first six months. The details are in the Rent-a-Website terms.
Can I buy my rented website?
Yes. The buy-out price depends on the website, so contact us for an evaluation. Until ownership is handed over, the code remains ours; the content you supplied always remains yours.
What happens to my email if I cancel?
You can move your email to another provider. The website itself isn’t released unless you’ve bought it from us.
Can I change my website later?
Yes. When your site is ready you get 5 working days to review it and send one complete, numbered list of changes, which we make as part of the rental. After that, changes are charged and quoted according to scope. Website updates are R650 per hour. Need more pages, disk quota or resources? That means upgrading your rental package.
Do you write the words for my website?
No. You supply the text, images and information for your site, and we design around it. We won’t use copyrighted content on any website we build.
